It's a touch-screen voting system that integrates the latest technology with the standard voting ballot process you have always used.

Developed and manufactured by Diebold Election Systems Inc., AccuVote-TS offers greater security, accuracy and accessibility then previous voting methods.

No One Gets More Than One Vote
AccuVote-TS operates on smart card technology. On Election Day, you will receive a card that validates you are an eligible Maryland voter and activates the ballot on the touch screen. No card can be used twice, nor can the voting machine be activated without a card.

No One Casts the Wrong Vote
AccuVote-TS makes over-voting impossible and reduces under-voting. The voting system will prevent you from voting for more than the designated number of candidates in a particular contest, just as it will clearly alert you to contests you may have under-voted.

AccuVote-TS provides a review option so you can verify your ballot is accurate. Your ballot will not be cast until you have reviewed it to your satisfaction and have touche the "Cast Ballot" button.

No One Is Left Out
AccuVote-TS is easily accessible for voters with disabilities, and its multi-lingual auditory function allows virtually any registered voter with visual impairments the ability to vote independently and privately.
